Splash Page: Second Draft
In Doctorow's book "Little Brother" Doctorow focuses the rage of the DHS on his main protagonist Marcus. Who at every turn is trying to protect his privacy. Privacy which his alias M13ky has shown to be all about anonymity and secrecy. Doctorow tries to incorporate the old definition of privacy into the 21st century. Privacy that is much harder to protect and much easier to be leaked. The old privacy of keeping ones secret to one self is no longer viable. Individuals have suggested a shift in the way generations fell about even understand privacy. A new definition based off of the control and regulation of who knows information. This schism has created ill conserved notions and security that is substitutable to abuse. Many have called for a new understanding of the shift in the definition of privacy. A new privacy that's definition which is much more in tuned with the online world. Privacy is a changing social construct which is built off the norms of the majority. This unique trait makes understanding and changing the definition much harder. No longer can the old term of privacy be used in it's original context because the world is changing.cyberspace is connected to us all and it can be a unforgiving frontier.
