Digital Reading and Design Notes

The websites provided through the course syllabus were really informative on the digital media, how users read websites, and basic setups when making a website.
In the first link Liu, I learned that in this digital era, more people are reading online than ever before. However, with more reading done online, reading is fragmented and less concentrated.
In the second link Nielson it is stated that the dominant reading pattern of users is in a F shape. People read horizontally at first, then read down vertically and horizontally, and then continue reading vertically. Also a fun fact, the back button is the 3rd most used feature on websites.
In the 3rd link Jerz, I learned many useful tips on building basic websites. One of the most basic navigation convention is always providing a link to the homepage on every page. Also, there is no "right" way in setting up a web page. It's not like a book that must go from left to right.

3 Mortal Sins Committed:
1: My webpage has too much white space.
2: My site uses centered text on more than just the headlines.
3: Some pages require visitors to scroll horizontally.
