Design Response

Matt, you created a really awesome website. I especially love the colors and pictures you used in design; they correspond really well with your topic of Global Warming. The multiple photos on each page have a cool effect, but can be overwhelming sometimes, like when there is a picture background with the body of text. I like how you creatively had a different layout, color scheme, and background for each page, but it might be easier for readers to navigate through pages that have the same basic layout; just a suggestion. The navigation link is easily accessible on each page, which is a huge plus, but you might want to decrease the number of links on the bar; too many links can be slightly overwhelming. Overall, though, you produced a really great site, Matt. It was compelling with the photos and fonts, it was organized, and easily accessible.

Austin, your website was incredibly compelling. I know you dedicated a lot of time to it, and it was worth it. The splash page itself is really captivating with the background image and draws the reader in to explore the rest of the site. The pictures and fonts also add a riveting aspect to the site, but can be overwhelming sometimes. I really like how you use different fonts and colors in the body of your text to help the reader zero in on key points. The way you use vertical and slanted text is also really cool, but slightly distracting at the same time; on some pages, I'm not even sure what the title of the page is because the title is too far apart from the body of text. I noticed how you use different backgrounds for some pages, and honestly, I really like the simplicity of the white backgrounds compared to the ones with picture backgrounds; the ones with the plain backgrounds are much more legible. Overall, you created a really compelling and fascinating site.
