Scene by Scene

Step Outline


Scene 1: The film starts with Marcus, the protagonist, on a pay phone in downtown San Francisco. He is speaking with s strange accent to an unknown person on the other end. The camera changes to Osama Bin Laden in a compound in Pakistan, it is inferred that Marcus is working with Osama.


Scene 2: Marcus is back at home on his computer on the internet. He is on google and in the search bar is “most populated areas in Las Vegas.” He is mumbling to himself in a low tone.


Scene 3: Back at the compound in Pakistan Osama is reading a file with Marcus’s picture and information on it. On the file there is a codename for Marcus, @hm3d. On the file below Marcus’s name and codename there is a job description that says “infiltrate and immobilize the DHS and carry out an attack on Las Vegas.” Osama reads this and says to himself “Al Qaeda will conquer.”


Scene 4: Marcus is back at his house with several Al Qaeda members. He is talking to them in Arabic and pointing to a folder with pictures sitting on the table. The subtitles explain what he is saying to them. He is telling them where to place the explosives in Las Vegas so that it will kill the largest amount of people.


Scene 5: Marcus is in Las Vegas with several members of the Al Qaeda team preparing the attack. They are running around the city planting explosives on multiple buildings and structures throughout the city. The attack is ready to be carried out.


Scene 6: Marcus is at home in his room. He looks at news stories from the attack on the Bay Bridge and thinks about everyone who died. He begins to cry and questions who he has become. He has a change of heart and realizes that he should stop the attack from happening, but the charges are due to go off in the morning.


Scene 7: Al Qaeda detonates the charges in Las Vegas. The explosions from the charges kill thousands of tourists in Las Vegas. There is death and destruction everywhere.


Scene 8: Marcus sees the attacks back home on the news. He starts to weep and he is sick with himself. He starts to curse himself and says he hates himself. Marcus is too overcome with grief and guilt, and he goes up to his room and takes his own life.

1 LOW OMINOUS MUSIC IN BACKGROUND. “DANGER FROM WITHIN” SLOWLY COMES INTO FOCUS FROM THE BACKGROUND AND THEN SLOWLY FADES OUT AGAIN AS THE MUSIC COMES TO A CLOSE.



2 OUTDOORS DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO - DAY - 2010

CAMERA ABOVE THE BUILDINGS. HAPPY DAYTIME MUSIC PLAYING IN BACKGROUND. CAMERA ZOOMS IN FROM TOPS OF BUILDINGS TO A PAY PHONE ON THE SIDEWALK.


CAMERA COMES TO A STOP NEXT TO THE PAY PHONE, COMES INTO FOCUS ON A YOUNG BOY IN THE PAY PHONE.


In the phone booth the boy inserts quarters and dials a rather lengthy number into to phone. He picks up the phone and waits for the person on the other end to pick up.


OSAMA

@hm3d, give me good news my friend.


MARCUS

Osama, the DHS is out of our way. We can now proceed with phase two of operation Death to Infidel.


OSAMA

Perfect @hm3d. You will be meeting with my associates shortly.


MARCUS

Thank you Osama, it is an honor.


3 INTERIOR OF BEDROOM. NICE, SOMEWHAT SMALL. THE BOY FROM THE PAY PHONE SITS AT A DESK WHILE TYPING ON A COMPUTER.
