Act Normal

With the Comic Life program, I decided to create a comic about the situation in society before Marcus began Operation False Positive. After the bridge bombing, the DHS started to look for terrorists by observing the abnormal behaviors of people. This connection between abnormal actions and potential terrorists didn’t really make sense to me. It’s not like they can connect all abnormal activities with terrorism. Plus terrorists could even behave “normally” if need to be. Marcus makes a good point when he says, “Abnormal is so common, it’s practically normal,” and this quotation really stuck out to me. (p.121) In addition, how can one draw a line between abnormal and normal? I think that this is hard to distinguish, but the DHS makes its seem like it’s black versus white, which is why I made the comic black and white. I think that this comic is worth a low “A” because I add insight to the original story and to the theme of normality, it flows properly, and it is organized.
