Splash Page After the attacks of 9/11, our nation set out on a conqusest to eradicate and catch every terrorist. Many actions were taken to protect the public and catch potential threats. However, through these actions and acts that were carried out and passed, our government has started to infringe on our personal rights such as freedom of speech. These recent developments have conjured up the question whether or not our nation is or is on the way to becoming a police state in respect towards censorship. During these times, people have turned towards Free Speech Zones as a way to voice their opinions towards the government and on any subject matter. These FSZs have created quite the controversy lately and have been, on several occasions, censored by the government from the media reporting on them. Doctrow's opinion towards freedom of speech states that it should be held above all and that people should be able to voice their opinions no matter what.
