As for my topic proposal, I would like to research the question concerning when is it considered okay for U.S. citizens to rebel against their government today? The book's answer to this question seemed to go along the lines of saying that it is okay for citizens of the United States to rebel against their government when the government becomes detrimental to the people that they are supposed to protect and when they begin to defy the values that they claim to uphold. This idea is expressed over and over again when Marcus recites the specific excerpt from the Declaration of Independence. By choosing this question as my research topic, I would like to look more in depth at past events where U.S. citizens rebelled against the U.S. government and groups or organizations that led such rebellions. For example, the Yippies would definitely be one of my areas of interest for this research hypertext. I would also find information on certain parts of the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, that are extremely important to U.S. citizens and that the government feels they can "throw out" with ease.

LB Remix & Topic Proposal
Unfortunately, I was not able to really improve my final remix of the novel Little Brother because of the type of remix I chose to do. The fact that I created a Tumblr account as my remix makes it impossible to really edit the blog without creating a completely new one because I was unable to insert posts into specific area that I wanted to. However, if I were able to substantially improve the blog, I would have taken the time to create some of my own posts relevant to the book instead of just searching for videos, articles, etc. via Google. For example, for the articles about the DHS being arrested, I could have easily just created my own image of a front page of a newspaper and posted that instead of looking for links to actual articles. However, I am extremely proud of my final remix and I am honestly surprised at how well it worked out and how effective I was told it was. The fact that the links take you to real articles that do have some relevance to the book and actual videos of events similar to what happened in the book provides a much more real feel to the blog rather than if it were to just be a bunch of pictures and text about the book.
